Adopt-A-School Program

School Program Adoption refers to a partnership between a school and an external entity such as a business, church, or civic organization. The focus of the partnership is on identifying and solving problems which affect the quality of education and which the school and the government may not be in a position to remedy without external assistance.

What is the driving force behind the Adoption Program?

Each year the Government allocates millions of dollars to the education system. Even though a large portion of the National Budget is allocated to education, schools still experience a number of infrastructural, social, economic and educational problems, which require more, or different resources that cannot be provided by the government. The quality of education naturally will suffer if these issues are not addressed. If the quality of education declines, so will the quality of our graduates and eventually the productivity of our nation. Partnership between schools and adopting entities is, therefore, necessary to provide additional resources to schools and providing the best education for our children.

Adopt-A-Child Program

When children and youth fall behind, usually due to illness or family problems, the resources to catch up don’t exist. Overcrowded classrooms and uneducated parents can make it nearly impossible for children to get the foundational knowledge they need to keep growing and thriving. This makes getting a stable job or planning for the future seem hopeless.

The Wesley Foster Foundation, aims to select a certain number of children each year to add to the Adopt-A-Child program. The program will provide the essentials that are needed such as food, school supplies, counseling, and mentorship.

In order for the children to stay in the programs, certain goals must be met. See application for benefits and requirements.
